New Vito launches at CV Show
Mercedes-Benz is to launch its new Vito panel van (a popular minibus conversion base) at the CV Show (14 to 16 April at the NEC). It is to be offered in three lengths, three weight variants and with two turbodiesel engines in five power ratings. The BlueEFFICIENCY package is fitted to all rear wheel drive models, which the manufacturer claims can help to achieve up to 47.1mpg (combined) in the 119 BlueTEC. Six-speed manual transmission is standard, with a 7G-Tronic Plus automatic transmission with torque converter optional for the 114 BlueTEC and 116 BlueTEC, and standard on the 119 BlueTEC. Mercedes-Benz says the new Vito offers the world’s only automatic transmission with torque converter and seven gears. Euro5 technology features in the 1.6litre engine in the two front wheel drive van and crew van variants, whilst Euro6 BlueTEC features on all 2.1 litre rear wheel drive variants and all Tourer models. Standard safety features include Adaptive ESP, Adaptive Brake Lights, Attention Assist, Crosswind Assist, airbags, Hill-Start Assist, reflection style headlights with daytime running lights, Rescue Assist QR codes and a Tyre Pressure Monitoring System.
