New Transport Secretary steps in
Heidi Alexander MP is replacing Louise Haigh as Transport Secretary. Heidi replaces Louise Haigh, who stepped down from the position last week following reports in the media of a spent conviction for fraud.
Heidi was previously the Minister of State at the Ministry of Justice from the 8 July 2024 to 29 November 2024. She was elected as the MP for Swindon South in July 2024.
In her new role as Secretary of State for Transport, she has overall responsibility for all DfT business.
