New Stagecoach Surrey base

Stagecoach has a new base in Surrey, having recently moved into new premises in Peasmarsh, south of Guildford. The site was officially opened at an event attended by the deputy Mayor of Guildford, Cllr Gordon Jackson who joined Regional MD for Stagecoach, Andrew Dyer. The new facility, which was previously home to a venetian blinds business, has 31 buses and employs 72 staff. The facility comprises of a bus maintenance workshop, offices and staff rooms, including a control room to monitor the bus services across South Surrey. Land adjacent to the depot building will house the depot fleet. Assistant Operations Manager at Exeter, Trevor Jones, has relocated to the new site. He oversaw the relocation of the South Surrey bus network from Aldershot and a previous operational base at Haslemere to the new depot. He has 26 years industry experience.

Andrew Dyer said, ‘We’re committed to delivering the best services for our customers, and providing the best operating environment for our staff. The location of the new depot site will help to deliver bus services across the Guildford and South Surrey area, including the popular Guildford Park & Ride service.’
