New First MDs

Following the announcement that First Bus will be restructuring its South East and Midlands business into three smaller units, the company has announced a series of MD appointments. Adrian Jones will be MD of the Essex business, based in the Westway office in Chelmsford. Adrian joined First in 1997 and has previously been MD for First London & Berkshire, having more recently been Transition Director for Tower Transit. David Squire will be the interim MD of First’s Eastern Counties business, based in the Lansdowne Road office in Norwich. David joined First with 35 years of experience in the bus industry. He was MD for Network Warrington, Head of Operations in Manchester for Arriva and General Manager, Dewsbury for Arriva Yorkshire.

Nigel Eggleton has been appointed MD of the Midlands and will be based in Leicester. Nigel has over 30 years’ experience of the UK bus industry in a variety of high profile positions. He joined Transdev as Sales and Marketing Director in 2008. Existing regional board member Steve Wickers will support Adrian and David as Commercial Director for East England (Eastern Counties and Essex), and David Marshall will remain as Finance Director, supporting all three new business units. Current Regional Engineering Director, Mick Branigan, has been appointed as Deputy MD in The Midlands, whilst Karen Doores will be HR Director for UK Bus in The South.
