New date for IRTE Skills Challenge

A new date for the testing stage of the IRTE Skills Challenge has been announced.

The testing stage is now due to take place on the week commencing 21 June. The new date has been selected in line with the Government’s roadmap out of lockdown. It is hoped all legal limits on social contact can be removed and restrictions lifted on large events and performances that apply before then.

A statement from the organisers of the IRTE Skills Challenge said: “However, should any restrictions remain in place, we are prepared to take all appropriate measures to protect those involved in the competition including social distancing, wearing a face mask when necessary or providing lateral flow tests. We will be reviewing the situation on the ongoing basis and another thorough risk assessment will be carried out at the end of March/beginning of April.

“Postponing the testing stage by one week will automatically alter the date of our sponsors/press day. All the other key dates remain unchanged.”

The organisation apologises for any inconvenience the changing of dates may cause.
