New CTA Chief Exec’

Bill Freeman has been appointed the new Community Transport Association (CTA) Chief Executive. He succeeds Keith Halstead, who moved to the National Trust for Scotland earlier this year. Bill is currently director of services and business development at NAVCA (the National Association for Voluntary and Community Action) and was previously Chief Executive at the British Youth Council and the Arthritis and Musculoskeletal Alliance. He takes up the new role in August.

Bill said, ‘I’m really pleased to have been appointed to this crucial role. I am looking forward to working with and supporting CTA members in all parts of the UK to ensure our movement is in the best position to respond to the environment we are working in today. Community transport is the answer to so many of the challenges facing vulnerable people and communities. Our members have a great story to tell and it is the CTA’s job to make sure this message is heard and understood by policy-makers and commissioners at all levels, so we can grow the opportunities for members to make a real and lasting difference in the places they work.’
