New campaign to encourage school kids to ‘belt up’

Angela Coaches of Southampton driver and BUSK (Belt up School Kids) campaigner Stephen Gaiger has used his coach mascot, teddy bear Sgt Bilko, as the star in a short film to encourage children to remain seated and belted whilst in transit.

A number of coach drivers representing various operators across the country also feature in the film which has been produced for schools to get the serious message of passenger safety and the seat belt law across in a light hearted, fun and engaging way.

Stephen commented, ‘I am still astounded by the number of children, and come to that, teachers too, that do not know or understand the laws surrounding the wearing of safety belts on coaches. I decided to produce a short information film in conjunction with BUSK to highlight the legal requirements and to try and promote coach safety. Travelling by coach can be fun and safe but it can be even safer if trip leaders enforce the seat belt laws.’

The film, which is entitled ‘Just do it’ is available on You Tube via the following link http://youtu.be/BgM3c5AFEHU
