New Beam Mini for minibus/coach wi-fi
A new product designed to provide wi-fi for minibuses and minicoaches has been launched by Mobile Onboard. The Beam Mini onboard system is thought to be the first passenger wi-fi product specifically designed for smaller PCVs. It is the latest in a stable of products intended to provide easy, powerful and cost effective passenger internet connection for any size of vehicle. With a compact size, it can provide a wi-fi signal capable of covering the whole vehicle in anything up to a 16-seater. Beam Mini allows operators to offer passengers free or sponsored internet access from their smartphones, tablets or laptops using wi-fi on board their vehicles connected to the 3G and 4G cellular networks. It is designed to be quick and simple to install, having the capability of being moved from one vehicle to another, providing full administrative control via its beamOS operating system.
MD of Mobile Onboard, Matthew Poole, said, ‘Whether it’s for work, leisure or play, today’s passengers expect to be able to use their devices wherever they are, and now there’s a wi-fi product specifically designed to meet their needs when travelling in smaller vehicles. Like our bigger wi-fi products, the Beam Mini has a built-in web server which allows operators to engage with their passengers via interesting infotainment content. This can include local information and entertainment features, as well as paid-for advertising that reaches this captive audience before they even begin to engage with the internet. We are working with a specialist marketing partner to provide this exclusive new feature, and will be delighted to work with operators to help them maximise their investment while providing interesting, relevant content that makes passengers’ journeys even more enjoyable.’
