New ADLs for NatEx
National Express West Midlands has launched a £4m new fleet of 18 Euro6 ADL Enviro400s. The vehicles feature extra leg room, free Wi-Fi, high backed leather seats and next stop announcements. The 18 new vehicles, which are running on the 900 and 957 services passing Birmingham airport, should also benefit from road improvements. Birmingham and Solihull Councils have worked with the operator and invested in enhancements intended to make journeys on these routes up to six minutes quicker. Drivers of the services will also wear suits and each route will have a dedicated manager. In total, 171 new ADL vehicles will join the West Midlands fleet by September.
Operations Director of National Express West Midlands, Paul Thomas, said, ‘Our new Platinum buses will transform bus travel in the West Midlands giving customers more leg room, free Wi-Fi and crucially, thanks to our partnership with local councils, faster journeys. The buses, which are all built in Britain, will also have more comfortable seats, better lighting and crystal clear CCTV.’
