National Express West Midlands to beat government’s £3 scheme
Single tickets on National Express West Midland’s services are to be cheaper than the upcoming revised national fare cap next year.
The is setting the cost of adult single tickets at £2.90 from 5 January 2025. The bus operator’s single tickets will be cheaper than the government’s revised single bus fare cap of £3, up from £2. The government’s new scheme begins on 1 January 2025.

“From 5 January our single fares will be cheaper than the government’s £3 single fare cap and all of our other fares remain unchanged – providing a range of great value tickets and passes to suit our customers’ needs.”
Customers travelling on National Express West Midlands buses before 5 January 2025 will be charged £2 per single journey.
