National Coach Week launches on 8th April

National Coach Week, which runs from 8 to 12 April, will see the launch of RHA Coaches’ Manifesto for the Coach Industry – which will not only highlight the coach’s importance but appeal for positive changes to tackle its challenges.

The event was created by RHA Coaches but supported across the industry by trade associations and non-members alike. National Coach Week events will be staged across the country during the week, to include opportunities for the public to try coach driving on the RHA’s simulator, and for the industry to engage with politicians.

‘National Coach Week is a celebration of an industry that plays a huge role in all our lives but is all too often taken for granted,’ said RHA Coaches. ‘Every day coaches get more than half a million school and college students to their place of education. When trains don’t run, or aircraft are diverted, coaches step in to bridge the gaps and get people to their destinations.

‘We think that those unsung heroes who make all these things happen are worth celebrating and this year’s event focuses on them, highlighting the jobs they do and opening up the opportunities for those seeking a rewarding career.’

The focus of the 2024 event will be the people in the industry, offering a window on the many skilled roles coaching can offer as a career path, says RHA Coaches. In particular, the event wants the coach industry’s employees to champion their roles, and RHA Coaches is encouraging short videos to be recorded by drivers, engineers and office staff explaining why they love their careers.

The ‘vlogs’ can be posted across a range of social media channels with the hashtag #NationalCoachWeek, with the aim of encouraging others to consider a career in coaches. Bus & Coach Buyer will be bringing you news of all the events for National Coach Week as they are arranged.
