NatEx starts Dublin Express

National Express has started Dublin Express, a new high-frequency, cross-city network of airport coach services.

The first three routes will operate a total of 72 services round the clock, offering the fastest transfer via Dublin Port Tunnel between Dublin Airport and three city stops at Custom House, Smithfield and Merrion Square at €6 for a single journey. The contract to run the Dublin Express was awarded to National Express in late 2019 and will be operated on its behalf by Bernard Kavanagh Coaches, Ireland’s largest private coach company. A phased expansion of Dublin Express will see additional services being added to increase frequency and connect more locations across the city.

John Boughton, MD of National Express Ireland, said: “We’re excited to see the first vehicles in our state-of-the-art fleet of coaches hit the roads next week.

“Dublin Express will transform what it means to ride an airport service in Dublin with a guaranteed seat with every booking, reclining leather seats, extra legroom, a generous luggage allowance, free wifi and charging sockets.

“Booking and payment is easy with tap-and-go and contactless ticketing at the airport plus real-time information means customers can track their coach.”
