Mellor to reveal longe-range Sigma 9 and 12 at Busworld
Mellor has chosen the Busworld exhibition in Brussels next month reveal its new Sigma 9 and 12 vehicles, following what it says is exceptional growth in the last three years.
The first reveal of Mellor’s Sigma 9 is a significant milestone for the manufacturer. The all-electric, nimble Sigma 9 requires just 60% of the battery power of the average single-deck bus and, with two battery options, offers customers choice and flexibility. Distinguished by its narrow width of just 2.35m and lightweight construction, the 60-passenger, Sigma 9 is a linchpin in Mellor’s six-model Sigma line-up.

Meeting flexible demands and prioritising customer comfort, Mellor’s new Sigma 12 will also be on display for the first time at Busworld. With capacity for over 80 passengers, Sigma 12 marks Mellor’s entry into the high-capacity city bus market. Available in two- and three-door models, and Class I urban, and Class II suburban configurations; Sigma 12 will accommodate different passenger and customer profiles with multiple layouts to choose from, a range of up to 400 kilometres and a single door for right-hand drive markets that meet UK requirements.
Alongside the reveal of Sigma 9 and Sigma 12, Mellor will also be showcasing its Sigma 7 bus which has already achieved great success in the UK as well as key territories including the German city of Kiel, and Gothenburg, as well as successful trials in Jersey, Guernsey, Barcelona, Austria and Munich, amongst others.

Taking place in Brussels from 7 to 12 October, Busworld presents the latest developments in the bus and coach transport industry. Bus & Coach Buyer will have a preview of its pick of the exhibitors in the next issue, available on-line Wednesday 20 October and through letterboxes on 22 October. Spanningthe three sectors of coach and bus builders, accessories and public transportation and tourism, the exhibition will cover key environmental issues and explore how the industry can become greener and more sustainable.
