McCarron Coates shortlisted for awards

Specialist bus and coach insurance broker, McCarron Coates, has been shortlisted for two awards in the prestigious National Insurance Awards.

The team, led by directors Ian McCarron and Paul Coates, are finalists for Commercial Lines Broker of the Year and Commercial Lines Specialist Broker of the Year.

The two award nominations have been achieved on the basis of the commitment that McCarron Coates has shown to its clients during UK lockdowns.

Given the lack of Government support for coach operators, McCarron Coates launched its ‘Wish You Could Hear’ lobbying campaign named, creating a retro-style postcard to highlight the crisis affecting the sector.

McCarron Coates director, Ian McCarron, said: “The past 12 months have been challenging, with many of our clients being in a sector that could not operate at all and which had no support. We felt it our duty to repay their loyalty to us, by creating a campaign that would highlight their plight.”

Paul Coates adds, “We are delighted to have our deep level of support for our clients recognised by the National Insurance Awards, which adds to the gratitude we have received from the coach sector for what we did to assist it in its hour of need. It would be fantastic to scoop one or both of the awards and bring it back to a team that worked so hard to not just keep our brokerage running but to also reach out and support coach operators who really needed help and someone on their side.”

The National Insurance Awards’ winners will be announced at a gala dinner at The Waldorf Hilton, London, on 14 July 2021.
