McCarron Coates is Broker of the Year
Coach insurance specialist broker, McCarron Coates, has been announced as the ‘Commercial Lines Broker of the Year’ in the UK Broker Awards.
The Leeds-based insurance brokers and fleet transport specialists impressed judges with its dedication to their coach sector clients during the pandemic. Its ‘Wish You Could Hear’ campaign, which they launched during the pandemic, innovatively put pressure on MPs, urging them to hear the plight of the UK coach sector companies, who were overlooked in Covid-19 financial support packages. At the time of waging the campaign, the broker was earning no commissions or payments from the sector, as vehicles were being taken off the road and insurance refunds were being paid back to operators.
Despite the impacts the brokerage itself suffered due to Covid-19’s impacts, McCarron Coates continued to enjoy hugely impressive general growth. It also invested in customer service excellence, creating an internal claims team to help progress its clients’ claims as smoothly as possible, whilst also highlighting trends that can assist their risk management.
McCarron Coates also won a National Insurance Award in July 2021, when the brokerage was adjudged the Commercial Lines Specialist Broker of the Year. The team has also been a finalist in the British Insurance Awards this year and, in November 2019, scooped two national Insurance Times awards.
“…it is particularly rewarding to see that judges have recognised the lengths we have gone to for our coach sector clients…” – Paul Coates
Speaking on behalf of the team and fellow directors, Ian McCarron and Luigi Maggio, Paul Coates says: “We have enjoyed phenomenal awards’ success this year and it is particularly rewarding to see that judges have recognised the lengths we have gone to for our coach sector clients, for no financial reward for ourselves at all.
“We are truly proud of what we have achieved and delighted that we are building a fast-growing brokerage on the basis of word-of-mouth recommendation and our standing and reputation in the industry.”
