Llew Jones auction on Tuesday
An auction on Tuesday 29 October will see Llew Jones International sell off around 30 coaches and buses, many bought for its summer Eisteddfod contracts.
The Conwy company – which also trades vehicles – has everything from a 2016 Tourismo down to service buses and minicoaches in the auction, which will be run from its Llanwrst base by auctioneer Malcolm Harrison, and has an on-line bidding portal. Viewing is from Monday 28 October.
Managing Director, Steve Jones, said: “The Eisteddfod was fantastic for the company as it was the largest single event undertaken by us, it went superbly, and it really emphasised what we can do.
“Obviously, in preparation for the Eisteddfod we purchased, ran and maintained a lot more vehicles than usual so the auction is a great opportunity for us to move these vehicles on to new homes, which will allow us to have a more streamlined and sustainable workload going forward.”
Touring coaches include: 2016 Mercedes Tourismo 49-seat; 2014 Scania Omni Express 53-seat; 2 x 2014 Yutong TC12 49-seat; 2011 VDL SB4000 55-seat;2009 Volvo B12B 9700 53-seat Executive; 2008 Mercedes 1220 Unvi Touring 37-seat; and a 2007 MAN 18.360 Noge Catalan Star 53-seat.
Standard coaches for sale are: 1999 Dennis Javelin 240 67-seat; 1998 Dennis Javelin 240 70-seat; 1998 Dennis Javelin 240 69-seat; 1996 Dennis Javelin 240 68-seat; 1995 Dennis Javelin GX290 49-seat Executive; and a 1995 Dennis Javelin GX290 70-seat. Minicoaches are: 2010 Mercedes Optare Sorocco 16-seat; and a 2008 Mercedes Optare Sorocco 19-seat.
Service Buses for sale are: 2 x 2009 Optare Versa 38/24 standees; 2006 VDL 200 Wrights 44/29 standees; 2006 MAN 18.220 Marcopolo Viale 42/30 standees; 2005 MAN 14.220 East Lancs 38/21 standees; 2 x 2003 MAN 14.220 East Lancs 38/21 standees; 2003 MAN 14.220 East Lancs 35/21 standees; 2004 Transbus Dart MPD 29/17 standees; 2005 Optare Solo M880 24-seat; 2001 Optare Solo M850 25-seat; 1999 Optare Solo M920 33-seat; 1999 Optare Solo M850 29-seat; and a 2003 Sprinter Koch 16-seat.
Oddball coaches for sale for possible preservation are a 1989 Setra 210 Rationale 53-seat (F179 OVL) and a 1988 Duple 425 70-seat (E425 EBV), both in good working order.
