Kramer to attend UK Bus Awards

New Transport Minister, Baroness Kramer, is to attend the UK Bus Awards ceremony in London on 19 November, honouring the commitment made by her predecessor, Norman Baker. The organisers have also confirmed that the awards will be presented by Lord Snape, Chairman of the Bus Appeals Board. Snape joined the board of Travel West Midlands as a non-executive director in 1992. He was Chairman of the company between 1997 and 2001, before becoming an advisor to National Express Group and FirstGroup.

UK Bus Awards Chairman, John Owen, said, ‘We are well aware of the many demands made on ministers, especially during their first few weeks. We are therefore especially pleased that Baroness Kramer has agreed to join us at the London Hilton. With the audience of 700 key players from the industry, this will provide an opportunity for the Minister to hear about some excellent examples of top quality bus service innovation and operation.’
