JG Travel hosts over 100 at Driver’s Academy
JG Travel Group has hosted over 100 drivers on its ‘Driver’s Academy’ programme of training seminars. The events have been held at its headquarters in Cheltenham on various dates in January, February and March 2024.
Now in its 13th year, drivers from the group’s various coach suppliers attended the courses which are timed to coincide with the start of the main touring season. The programme was also completed ahead of National Coach Week next week, which will focus on the importance of people in the industry.
Each seminar focused on a range of topics including tour planning, coach and driver presentation, customer service and communication across all three brands. Driving teams for the five new JG Explorer coaches, which launch in May 2024, have now been selected by the operators purchasing them and for the first time, the training covered the new features these specific vehicles will offer.
“National Coach Week this year will major on the importance of people in our industry and for us, the drivers play a pivotal role in the delivery of our product” – Paul Mason, Director of Operations at JG Travel Group
