Iveco South Africa offensive

Iveco launched its new Afriway bus range at the recent SABOA (South African Bus Operators) annual convention. Available initially in a 4×2 two-axle configuration (12.3m) with manual or automatic transmission, a 6×2 three-axle version (14m) is to follow. The vehicles will be assembled locally, building on what Iveco describes as the solid foundation it has established in Africa. Dubigeon, a bus bodybuilder and established partner of Iveco, designed the Afriway’s body. Its production is integrated into the ISAW plant at Rosslyn, in the suburb of Pretoria. Interior customisation options include a wide range of optional extras that can convert the standard vehicle from a rural commuter bus to a semi-luxury intercity vehicle. Selected dealers will have bus service and parts added to their portfolio.
