Irizar UK sells 100th integral coach
Irizar UK has sold its 100th integral coach to Norfolk based Eastons Holidays. The sale of the i6 comes less than three years after the Worksop based dealership’s launch. The 13.87m 53-seater has DAF-Paccar’s 460hp MX340 engine and ZF AS-Tronic autoshift gearbox. It is being liveried in the factory and will be delivered in July. Commercial Director, Steve O’Neill, a former coach operator, says the growing sales of Irizar Integral coaches (including the i4 and PB) has been matched by investment in key staff and in parts stock with supplier partner Masterpart. Additionally, Irizar UK has a programme of product training for the 30 specialist DAF service agents in the UK.
Steve said, ‘It seems such a short time ago that Ian Hall and I were watching the showroom signage go up. We are very proud to have sold our 100th coach, and owe a debt of thanks for those operators who have shown faith in us, and our determination to make Irizar UK a first-rate company. As a former coach operator, I know how important our aftersales service is to our customers, to sort out problems as soon as they occur and to leave the talking until our customer’s vehicle is back on the road. Thankfully, the superb build quality now being achieved by Irizar’s global brand has meant those problems have been few and far between.’
Joint Owner of Eastons, Robert Easton, said, ‘After having been very impressed with the factory when I was hosted by Irizar on a VIP trip, I decided to take a closer look. Legroom on our European tour programme is a critical factor for us, but the Irizar i6 in its 13.87-metre length offers legroom in plenty. Another factor is the “wow” which is created by the i6 design, both outside and inside, it offers high levels of customer appeal. Having spoken to other operators, it was clear that the all-important backup and aftersales service is a key part of the package offered by Irizar UK. That’s essential for us.’
