Highest TfL bank holiday bus rides recorded since pandemic
New ridership figures from TfL show the busiest August Bank Holiday for bus journeys since the pandemic.
Bus journeys during the bank holiday reached 10,774,000 this year, up from the 9,789,000 hit last year. The current record is still below 2019’s 11,167,000.
Tube journeys also hit record numbers over the bank holiday.
The weekend rounded off a busy summer on the network that saw stations in central London hit pre-pandemic levels at weekends, if not exceed them, by early August. As autumn now approaches, TfL is encouraging everyone to continue to explore the city and the range of events on offer.
