‘Heartbreaking’ damage at PC Coaches now repaired

Lincoln-based PC Coaches has now repaired the damage caused by vandals that broke into the operator’s yard.

Just under £25,000 of damage was caused after a break in at its depot on the Allenby Road Industrial Estate. The destruction saw four coaches taken off the road, but using spare vehicles in the fleet meant there was no disruption to services.

After the break-in, PC Coaches took to social media to offer a £1,000 reward for anyone that knew who caused the damage. Stephen Bryce, MD of PC Coaches, told B&CB: “We now know who the culprits are, we have their name and address. But the police were not able to prove they did it.”

Stephen was alerted to the vandalism the night it occurred, with a driver being contacted by his friend who owns a site near PC Coaches’ depot during the time it happened. Stephen said: “The driver’s friend heard smashing and shouting and was able to shout and scare off the person that broke in.”

On the damage caused, Stephen said: “It was heart breaking.”

The vandalism was not an isolated affair, with similar break-ins and damage at the industrial estate carried out in a similar space of time on other business’ property.
