Grayson continue Smiles collaboration

Following two successful years of cooperation, Grayson Thermal Systems and Smiles Engineering are continuing their collaboration. The working together of the engine cooling, heating and air conditioning specialist, Grayson and the Newcastle based engine remanufacturer, Smiles Engineering, started after signing a partnership agreement at Euro Bus Expo 2012. Smiles will continue to act as Grayson’s northern service facility and install Grayson’s E-drive cooling systems alongside engine repower retrofits. Since the two companies joined forces, Smiles has fitted over 100 of Grayson’s E-Drive systems. Designed to be energy saving, the E-Drive is said to reduce operators’ fuel bills by up to 15%. It replaces the original cooling system to give a high level of control over fan speed and temperature. The fans only need to be operated on full power when conditions demand it. Emissions and noise levels are also significantly reduced.

General Manager for Smiles Engineering, Rob Pease, said, ‘For over two years, Grayson have been working with Smiles to supply cooling system solutions. In this time we have seen a vast improvement in the overall installation time and in service reliability of the Grayson E-Drive system compared to traditional cooling system options.
