Grange Travel hit by possible arson attack

Grange Travel of Gravesend has fallen victim of a depot fire – with arson among causes being investigated – with the loss of three PSVs and some cars parked on site.

A photo shared on social media shows a coach and two minibuses destroyed. Ruth Honey, Commercial Director, told Bus & Coach Buyer: “The police have been great and are now involved, so I can’t say very much. But looking on the bright side, nobody was hurt.” On social media, she said the fire started in the early hours of Thursday morning.

‘The local newspapers have reported it was an accident but this is not true. They are also awash with incorrect information such as we tried to put out the fire with an extinguisher. Also not true,’ she wrote.

“Kent police have been amazing at their skill and have been supportive throughout the whole process however due to an ongoing investigation we are unable to comment any further at this time.

“Be assured that if and when we do find out the truth it will be shared.”

Ruth says that all services on Thursday were delivered without interruption.
