Go-Ahead moves into First’s former Southampton site

Go-Ahead Group owned Bluestar and Unilink have moved to a new Southampton premises, formerly owned by First Bus.

Bluestar stepped in to provide bus services in Southampton in February, after First pulled out of running routes in the city.

“Although part of our operation will remain in Eastleigh, we are delighted to confirm that the depot in Empress Road in Southampton is now our HQ” – Andrew Wickham, Bluestar and Unilink managing director

“We recently completed the purchase of the depot in Empress Road, and are moving the majority of our operation here from our previous HQ in Eastleigh,” said Andrew Wickham, Bluestar and Unilink managing director.

“Bluestar stepped in to run additional services across the city in February, following news that First Bus had decided to withdraw from the area, so we were keen to acquire extra space for our growing team and fleet of vehicles.

“Although part of our operation will remain in Eastleigh, we are delighted to confirm that the depot in Empress Road in Southampton is now our HQ. It gives us the perfect base from which to provide comprehensive bus services across the city and surrounding area.”
