Gastonia Coaches from Cranleigh in Surrey, which in common with Scania (Great Britain) Ltd celebrates 50 years in business this year, has taken delivery of a Scania Irizar i6 touring coach. Based on a Scania K 360 IB4x2 chassis, the vehicle features a special livery created to mark the operator’s Golden Jubilee. It has 53 seats, a washroom, a servery and extra dark tinted glass.
Gastonia Coaches MD, Josie Bicknell, said, ‘The introduction of this vehicle into our fleet is the icing on our 50th anniversary cake. Back in the mid-1980s we became the first operator to put a Scania K 112 coach with an integral Plaxton 3500 Paramount body into service, and we have had a deep appreciation for the Scania marque since then. While the bedrock of our business today is school’s work, this vehicle will be running on our high-end trips and tours.’
Scania (Great Britain) Ltd supplied the vehicle.
