First’s new Manchester MD
Teresa Broxton has been appointed as the new MD for First Manchester. Teresa joined First in 1998 and has held the position of Finance Director for First in the North of England since 2011. More recently she has championed the business transformation programme in the region which has driven up passenger volumes by 14% since the summer of 2013 through improvements in customer service performance and delivering value for money for customers. Starting her career with Greater Manchester Buses in 1983, she has a wealth of experience of UK bus operations including her role as Financial Controller for Stagecoach Manchester. Both her parents were in the industry, her dad as an Operations Manager and her mum as an Engineering Clerk. It is believed she is the first female MD of a Manchester bus business. She will be in charge of the operation’s 2,500 staff and 700 buses based at its depots in Oldham, Bolton, Cheetham Hill, Rusholme, Bury and Tameside.
