First Van Hool hybrid ‘tram-bus’ delivered

Van Hool has delivered its first hybrid Exqui.City ‘tram-bus’ to Malmö, Sweden. In the coming weeks, 15 of the 24m biogas-electric vehicles will be shipped to the Swedish city. The manufacturer signed a contract with operator, Nobina, in the autumn of 2012 for the delivery of the 15 articulated vehicles which will enter service in June 2014. Recently, an order has been placed for 14 24m diesel-electric hybrid versions for Martinique, a French island in the Carribean, as well as an order from Bergen, Norway, for two 24m biogas-electric hybrid variants.
