FIRST GLIMPSE: Transdev Blazefield reveals first of 19 Enviro400EVs

Transdev Blazefield has revealed the first of 19 Alexander Dennis Enviro 400EVs for its iconic Harrogate and District 36 service between Leeds, Harrogate and Ripon.

They are equipped for opportunity charging to maximise availability on the 30 mile interurban route, using the rapid chargers at Harrogate bus station where an additional pantograph charger has been installed and another modified to be suitable for double-deck vehicles. The new vehicles feature a very high standard of interior trim with 52 Kiel seats including six recliners in the two plus one format upper deck, Two wheelchairs and 16 standees are accommodated.

Also on display to the public at the launch event outside The Yorkshire Hotel in Harrogate was Daimler Buses’ latest UK Mercedes-Benz eCitaro demonstrator as a precursor to the production vehicles expected in Harrogate and Keighley later this year.
