Farewell Olympian

To mark the withdrawal of all EYMS’s Olympian buses from service, the operator will be holding a special ‘Farewell Olympian’ service on 30 May 2015. Volvo Olympian 630, which was new in 1998 and carries a Northern Counties Palatine 1 body, will be used on EYMS service 630. The route will start at Hull’s Paragon Interchange and then take a scenic trip around Hull through to Cottingham, pausing near Skidby Mill for a photo opportunity. The route will then go on via the A164 to the Humber Bridge car park, before returning to Hull Interchange via the A63. The journey will take about 45 minutes. There will be five departures during the day, setting off from Hull at 10.00, 11.30, 13.00, 14.30 and 16.00, to give as many people as possible the chance to travel. There will be a flat fare of £4 per round trip (First come, first served). Go to www.eyms.co.uk/documents/pdfupload

The end of the Olympian at EYMS also means that the entire bus fleet is now wheelchair accessible, although some earlier, mainly single deckers remain to be upgraded to full DDA specification.
