easyBus ‘cheapest ever’ airport travel

easyBus says its Manchester Airport shuttle service (see B&CB 1395, 9 September 2016), due to enter operation on 21 October 2016, is the ‘cheapest ever bus travel to a regional airport in the country’. Its upcoming service will cost as little as £2 a seat when booked online. Returns can also be booked on the website for £4. The operator, part of the easyJet consortium, guarantees it will be ‘hugely cheaper’ than the trains and taxis that run between Shropshire and Manchester Airport. It will start at Telford and include Shrewsbury, Oswestry, Wrexham and Chester before going to the airport. There will be 16 departures a day, seven days a week on the Telford to Manchester Airport journey, with easyBus initially investing in 12 low emission minicoaches. The first journey departs from Shrewsbury at 04.00 with the last journey from Manchester Airport at 00.45. A special introductory offer of 20,000 seats available for £1 each can be booked online.

It will be run by the owner of Express Airport Transfers, Andrew Martin.
