East Yorkshire goes North Yorkshire in service shake up

Go-Ahead-owned East Yorkshire is taking on some routes in North Yorkshire in a series of service changes.

From Monday 8 April, in partnership with North Yorkshire Council, the operator is introducing new routes. It is to take on the 80 route (Raskelf – Linton on Ouse – York), replacing Reliance’s Service 29 with a revised timetable. It is to run the 81 (Malton – Castle Howard – Sheriff Hutton – York) service, replacing Transdev’s York & Country Castle Line with minor timetable changes. It will also be taking over the 31X service (York – Kirkbymoorside) from Reliance, as well as the 82 83 (York – Boroughbridge – Ripon) service from Transdev.

Also as part of the changes, Hodgson Coaches is to take on North Yorkshire Council operated 155 (Bedale – Leyburn), 150 (Thirsk – Ripon), 147 (Ripon – Thirsk), 60 60A (Great Thirkleby – Thirsk – Carlton Husthwaite Circular) and 59 (Thirsk – Husthwaite Circular). Hodgsons will also be taking over Coatham Coaches’ 18 service (Stokesley – Guisborough)

Procters Coaches is taking on route 59 (Northallerton – Leeming Village) from Hodgsons Coaches.

Service 11 (Tosside-Horton in Ribblesdale) is to be run by 21 Transport, taking over from North Yorkshire Council. It will also be taking on the South Craven Village bus from the Council.

Service 582 (High Bentham – Hornby) is to switch from Council operation to Kirkby Lonsdale Coach Hire.

As well as the operator changes, there will be numerous alterations to timetables in the region this month and into May and June.
