DVSA supports IRTE Skills Challenge

This summer’s IRTE Skills Challenge is being supported by the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA). The Agency has specially devised an inspection test, designed to be as close a replication of the annual test for buses and coaches as possible. The competition involves a series of mechanical, electrical and bodywork tasks at S&B Automotive Academy in Bristol in June. The top scoring technicians and apprentices will be offered a day of training with DVSA as part of their prize.

Chief Executive of DVSA, Alastair Peoples, said, ‘We’re proud to be supporting the IRTE Skills Challenge to identify and reward the industry’s best bus and coach technicians. We hope our involvement will provide a valuable insight into how the agency works and highlight the importance of vehicle safety and reliability.’
