Dover half-term coach arrangements announced

Special arrangements for coaches are to be put in place for coaches travelling through the Port of Dover during February half-term.

All coaches must use the designated Coach Processing Facility in Dover’s Western Docks on Friday 9 (10.30am to 9.30pm), Saturday 10 (11.30am to 10.30pm) and Friday 16 February (12pm to 11pm).

If travelling on Friday 9 (10.30am to 9.30pm), Saturday 10 (11.30am to 10.30pm) and Friday 16 February (12pm to 11pm), call in to the designated Coach Processing Facility before travelling to the Ferry Terminal. The Port of Dover assures coach operators there are toilets and a water bottle filling station here, but reminds operators to ensure passengers have sufficient food, snacks and entertainment. A full range of amenities are available in the Passenger Services Building beyond ferry check-in.

The Port asks operators to ensure all toilet facilities aboard coaches are emptied before arriving at the Port.

When travelling to the Ferry Terminal, the Port asks to ensure passengers have passports open and ready before border controls to help speed the transit process along.

The Port of Dover asks coach operators only turn up within the three-hour booking window. Vehicles that turn up early will be turned away.

There will be a sequencing process in place and coaches will be given a number on arrival at the facilities. All coach traffic will be expected to use this facility and any coaches arriving at the Ferry Terminal without a number will be exited.
