Double victory for Women in Bus and Coach
Women in Bus and Coach (WiBC) has two reasons to celebrate following the Chartered Institution of Highways and Transportation Awards last night (13 June 2024).
The organisation, dedicated to promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion within the bus, coach and community transport industry, won the Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion Award. The accolade acknowledges the group’s impact and contributions towards fostering a more inclusive industry.
Additionaly, Kerri Cheek, Senior Bus Safety Development Manager at TfL, and founding Director of WiBC, was awarded the Bus Centre of Excellence – Bus Person of the Year Award. This title recognises an individual’s exceptional contribution to the bus sector, highlighting Kerri’s dedication, leadership and unwavering commitment to advancing the industry. In addition to her main role leading TfL’s Bus Safety Programme, over the last two years Kerri has been integral to the foundation of WiBC.

Kerri Cheek said: “The mission of Women in Bus and Coach is to champion equality, diversity, and inclusion within the sector, and this recognition is a testament to the hard work and passion of our entire team – who are all incredibly proud and humbled to receive this award. I am also deeply honoured to be named Bus Person of the Year by the Bus Centre of Excellence for my mission to bring the industry together to effect change in both safety and diversity.
