Dino buses

Isle of Wight operator, Southern Vectis, has launched four buses in special dinosaur liveries to run on its Coaster route. The service runs daily from Ryde to Yarmouth along the island’s south coast, calling at attractions on the route, including Isle of Wight Zoo, Dinosaur Isle, Blackgang Chine, Isle of Wight Pearl and The Needles Park with four return journeys per day. In preparation for the December launch of ‘Walking With Dinosaurs: The 3D Movie’, six new ‘Meteorites’ have been placed along the route, featuring information on dinosaurs and the film. By downloading a free smart-phone app with iTunes or Google Play, visitors can be photographed with an animated dinosaur based on those that prowled the area millions of years ago.

General Manager of Go-Ahead owned Southern Vectis, Matt Kitchin, said, ‘We are delighted to support the campaign devised by Visit Isle of Wight by promoting the film and the related tourist attractions which will become even more popular as a destination once the film is released.’
