DFDS builds on its time-saving Channel app with new video

Ferry operator DFDS is to launch a video explaining systems which speed groups through the Channel crossings.

DFDS has already led from the front by creating an app in 2022 which can be used by operators to log the passports of groups before they reach Dover, helping shave time off the more complex post-Brexit checks. Now, to cement that progress, the Dover-Dunkerque specialist has filmed a video which will be distributed in 2024.

“The creation of the video was actually prompted by FlixBus, whose cross-Channel services present a particular challenge,” said Graham Hopcraft, DFDS Key Account Manager. “It will be just a couple of minutes explaining the procedure in Dover, Dunkerque and Calais, and we believe it will help the flow through the ports.

“It will be available for download on the groups page of the DFDS UK website and will benefit operators, drivers and passengers. I think it will be helpful if shown on the coach’s video system en route to the ports.”

The video was filmed with the help of Bayliss Executive Travel of Dover: “We have a great relationship with Bayliss. In point of fact, their driver on the shoot was doubly useful in pointing out a few small things from the driver perspective which will help us improve our system further,” said Graham.
