CPT’s new translation service

CPT has launched an interpretation and translation service for its members operating in Europe. Working with LanguageLine Solutions, members of the trade body can take advantage of two or three way telephone interpretation 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. A document translation service is also available. LanguageLine Solutions will also offer preferential rates to CPT members for document translation, with documents able to be uploaded via a web portal.

CPT’s President for 2014, Chris Owens, said, ‘A number of operators have encountered difficulties when dealing with authorities abroad and have often incurred fines simply because of the language barrier. This new member benefit will enable drivers and, if necessary, their offices back in the UK to engage in simultaneous telephone translations. I know this is going to be a real comfort blanket to CPT members who regularly travel abroad, and is yet another reason why CPT membership is invaluable for operators large and small.’
