CPT sets out coach priorities

In its continuing efforts to better communicate the importance of the industry, the Confederation of Passenger Transport (CPT) has set out its priorities for the next government to help coaches continue to deliver a range of vital services and play their part in improving air quality and fighting the climate emergency. The CPT has launched a new document which sets out the policies it believes the next government needs to deliver for coach passengers.

CPT is calling for the next government to:

  • Introduce a long-term strategy to help green the coach fleet including the creation of a national clean air fund to help with retrofitting
  • Ensure there is sufficient flexibility in a future immigration system and include coach drivers on a shortage occupation list
  • Strengthen national planning regulations in relation to coach parking for places likely to receive large numbers of visitors
