Coach group aims to get coaching on the map

A group of coach operators is aiming to set up a media charm offensive to put coaching on the map, and is asking operators to give their thoughts.

Rather than wait for the government to promote coach travel, a small number of like-minded operators thought we might be able to do this ourselves,” explains Candice Mason, of Masons Minibus and Coach Hire. “Can you imagine; a collective effort by the industry, for the industry, promoting the industry.”

Candice Mason, right, was also involved in helping set up the Honk for Hope campaign in 2020

The group has already contacted trade associations and the Coach Tourism Association, and been assured of their support where applicable, says Candice.

We are exploring the options of a National campaign and would be keen to gauge your readers’ level of interest and thoughts. This would require some financial input and so far we have managed to secure interest from a small number of suppliers who would be keen to support and sponsor us with the campaign.

As with all things in life, the more money we have the more successful the campaign could be,” Candice says. “The start of the project would be identifying support and those who would like to be a part of this. The next steps would be to assign an agency to help us design the style and key messaging that would incorporate the diverse work we all take part in.”

To begin the campaign, the group is asking Bus and Coach Buyer readers to complete a survey to indicate input and support: “We will ask for your details in order to keep you up to date on the progress,” she says.

The window to complete the survey is Monday 8 March to Monday 22 March. You can begin the survey by going to https://tinyurl.com/yav8bl3x
