Children design Arriva exterior

Arriva Yorkshire launched a competition with De Lacy Primary School in Pontefract to design a bus exterior for the improved 410/411 service which links Leeds City Centre to the Chequerfield estate. Five finalists have been announced, with the winner decided by the public vote. The bus will then be wrapped in the winning design and driven to the school before being put into service.

Regional MD for Arriva Yorkshire, Nigel Featham, said, ‘It’s great to give something back to the local community. The X-Factor bus competition really created a lot of excitement at the school, and we had a hard job whittling it down from the 300 entries to just the final five. The five finalists were announced on Tuesday in true X-Factor style, where we presented each child with four family tickets to watch the X-Factor live in Leeds. To celebrate the new route we have given away over 5,000 free day tickets in the local area and the children at De Lacy Primary school released 411 balloons to mark their new 411 bus service!’
