Catteralls’ new Irizar i6

Catteralls of Southam have taken delivery of a 13.9m 61 seat Irizar i6 Integral. The operator specified the coach with upgraded PB seats, a centre sunken toilet, a drinks machine, powered locker doors, a driver bunk, a reversing camera, two-screen DVD and audio system and seatback tables throughout. It is powered by DAF’s MX340 Euro5 engine coupled to the ZF AS-Tronic auto-shift transmission.

Catterals owner, Paul Catterall, said, ‘We ran DAF based coaches back in the 1980s, and were always happy with them, so we decided to take the plunge. I like the style of Irizar vehicles. They are very attractive – almost “space age” – and turn heads. In addition, this had the capacity we wanted with plenty of legroom. Our drivers love it, and I’ve been very impressed. Most importantly, the customers are impressed with it – it’s really proving its worth, and occupying a special place in our fleet of older vehicles.’
