Carousel to take on Arriva route

Carousel Buses has confirmed it will operate service 41 between High Wycombe and Great Missenden from 8 January 2023.

The Go-Ahead-owned operator was approached by Buckinghamshire Council and has committed to taking on the route after Arriva announced it was withdrawing the service.

Carousel Buses will run the service up to every hour Monday to Saturday daytime, with journeys at school time extending to and from Marlow Hill Schools.

Luke Marion, Carousel Buses Interim Managing Director, said: “There was a lot of concern in the community when Arriva announced it was stopping the service. Carousel Buses and Buckinghamshire Council believe we can make the route sustainable and so we hope people will back the service and help us ensure it remains for the long term.”

Steven Broadbent, Buckinghamshire Council’s Cabinet Member for Transport, said: “We at Buckinghamshire Council are pleased that our work with Carousel has secured a replacement service for service 41 from January and for Arriva’s co-operation with the process.

“We look forward to working with Carousel as they establish this service as part of their network. This service will maintain key links for residents in these villages, allowing people to travel to school and work more sustainably, which is excellent news for those who rely on the service.”
