Carol Peters Travel in sudden closure

Kent-based Carol Peters Travel has gone into receivership, with the loss of all jobs.

Run by Peter and Carol Howe, the Isle of Thanet company had been established for 24 years and ran day trips, short breaks and coach hire from its Manston base. It had offices at Deal and Westgate-on-Sea. The company had been shortlisted for industry awards as recently as 2017.

“We are personally devastated,” Peter Howe (73) told a local newspaper. “We would like to apologise to all of our customers for any inconvenience.”

The reason for the insolvency is unclear, although it is known that coaches in the company’s eight-vehicle fleet, which included Scania Tourings have been repossessed.
