Brighton & Hove ‘excited’ to introduce personalised travel alerts
Brighton & Hove Buses is introducing personalised travel alerts on its app.
The Go-Ahead-owned operator has had a new feature added to its journey planning app, where customers can choose to receive push notifications about any new disruptions affecting a route or bus stop that they have ‘favourited’ in the app.
Currently, favouriting routes and stops within the app grants easier access to live running information and timetables for those used regularly. Though until now, to see disruption alerts users would have had to consciously visit a specific menu choice to see disruption alerts. With the new update, when a new disruption is loaded by the Brighton & Hove Buses team, it will now send an instant push notification to anyone who has favourited a route or stop affected by it, making it easier to proactively alert people of any disruption that affects them.
Brighton & Hove Buses’ app was developed by Passenger.
“It is important to us to ensure that disruption information is delivered in a timely manner and is both accurate and relevant to our customers” – Nick Hill, Commercial Director at Brighton & Hove Buses
Nick Hill, Commercial Director at Brighton & Hove Buses, said: “We’re excited to launch this new feature for our customers. It is important to us to ensure that disruption information is delivered in a timely manner and is both accurate and relevant to our customers.
“We now know that around 60% of our passengers use the app for information when there is disruption, so it is important that our app is fully equipped to help keep our customers updated.”
