Blythswood Motors to ‘retire’
George Steele, 93, has announced the ‘retirement’ of Blythswood Motors in Glasgow from the industry. This is due to take affect after December this year. Until then the company is open for business as usual. A statement on the company’s website said: ‘George would like to acknowledge all the people he has met over the past 65 years and thank them for their business.’ Prior to entering the motor trade, George spent seven years in the RAF, where he piloted a Mosquito, a two man combat aircraft.
Although Blythswood Motors may have been ‘retired’, George Steele remains in the world of work. Sister company, Clifford Finance Ltd, will continue business as usual where Mr Steele can still be contacted for any future financial requirements needed in the purchase of commercial vehicles, business premises, household properties and boats, etc.
