Blakes invest in Scania

Blakes Coaches of Tiverton, Devon have taken delivery of a pair of 12.9m Scania Irizar tri-axle i6 touring coaches. Based on the Scania K 400 EB6x2*4 chassis, they are powered by Scania’s 13litre 400hp Euro5 EGR engine matched to the fully automated Opticruise gearbox. They each have 53 seats covered in Kneitz material, a driver’s bunk, a Webasto heater, a servery, a washroom and heated windscreens. Owner, David Blake, said, ‘We chose the Scania Irizar i6 combination because, like the Scania Irizar PB’s we run, they have the wow factor and great customer appeal. Also, the excellent aftersales support we receive and the relationship we have built with Scania over many years were among the many reasons for this purchase.’

The coaches were supplied by Scania (Great Britain) Ltd.
