Birmingham bus gate now operational
Birmingham’s bus gate is now operational.
The bus gate on Moor Street Queensway prevents general traffic from travelling between Moor Street Station and Carrs Lane in either direction. Buses, cyclists and hackney carriages are permitted.
Moor Street Queensway is a significant hub for bus services. The bus gate is intended to help buses travel through the city centre with minimal delays, to provide an efficient and predictable service.
Preventing through access by private vehicles also forms part of the delivery of the city centre segments project set out in the draft Birmingham Transport Plan and adopted Emergency Birmingham Transport Plan.
