Better coach parking in RHA Scottish Budget requests
RHA has requested Scottish government supports the creation of more safe places for coaches to park as part of its submission to the Scottish Budget.
Martin Reid, RHA Policy Director for Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland said the road transport industry is critical to the supply chain and economic growth in the RHA’s submission to the Scottish Government ahead of the Scottish Budget for 2024 to 2025. He highlights the industry faces significant pressure from both cost increases including wage, fuel and energy costs and shortages of drivers, technicians, vehicles and parts.
Other requests from the RHA include honouring existing commitments on critical infrastructure and increase investment to develop the strategic road network, including ferry routes. It also asks for support for reform of the Apprenticeship Levy to provide greater flexibility for skills training.
The Scottish Budget is expected to be published on 19 December 2023.
