Arriva South achieves Earned Recognition status

Arriva South has achieved the DVSA’s Earned Recognition status.

The recognition demonstrates the bus operator’s commitment to compliance and safety standards in the Midlands, Shires and Southern counties regions.

The accreditation to the Earned Recognition Scheme took around a year to complete.

An external company had to make sure compliance and safety standards were being adhered to, as well as making sure Arriva South has robust systems and processes in place to continuously monitor its performance.

The recognition brings benefits that include being less likely to have vehicles stopped at the roadside and DVSA visits, access to future DVSA incentives, and showcasing the fact that Arriva puts safety front and centre of all it does.

The DVSA Earned Recognition scheme enables bus operators to prove that they meet strict driver and vehicle standards by demonstrating they are compliant with vehicle and road safety standards, promoting effective, adaptable transport management and having stringent systems and processes in place.

Arriva London was a founder member of the scheme and it is hoped that Arriva North (Yorkshire, North East, North West and Wales) can join the scheme soon.

There are around 80 other coach and bus operators from across the UK that have been accepted into the Earned Recognition scheme.
